A click and a conversion are different events
How a typical redirect flow works
- 01User opens the publisher's campaign link
- 02Tracking platform records the click and redirects
- 03Landing page receives the agreed click identifier
- 04Advertiser records the qualifying user action
- 05Pixel or server callback transmits the click ID and event
- 06Tracker validates the event and applies campaign rules
- 07Partner reporting distinguishes accepted, rejected and pending conversions

What an HTTP 200 response actually proves
Typical sources of broken attribution
- The landing page receives a click identifier but does not persist it for the correct eligible action.
- The callback uses a different parameter name or an unresolved template macro.
- The event fires from page load instead of after actual registration confirmation.
- A payout or currency field is malformed or interpreted using the wrong unit.
- The same registration event is sent repeatedly and credited more than once.
- A tracking endpoint is unavailable but the sender has no bounded retry or diagnostic state.
- Consent, data minimisation or partner rules are ignored.
